Happy Thanksgiving!

To my friends who celebrate
I wish you much joy
With family and love
That surrounds you

To my friends who don't
I wish you the same
For we don't need
A holiday
To appreciate love

Have a wonderful weekend, no matter how you spend it!

  4. Oh Happy Thanksgiving, Laura! I'm so jealous - I love Thanksgiving so much I would be happy to celebrate it twice a year! In the meantime, please have a second helping of turkey and stuffing and pie for me, please? (yum, yum, yum)
If Thanksgiving really is a formal way to be thankful, may I say I am grateful for your kindness and enthusiasm .. not to mention your great talent. Hope you have an awesome weekend.

  9. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Laura.

I've got to go do some day-before prepping this morning. Planning and cooking Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners is like ... organizing a huge event, even if it's only for a few people.

Helen - I know! But my daughter is hosting this year so I'm lucky. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

  16. Carol - Alex and I don't look anything alike...not that I've ever seen a picture of him. ;)

  17. You too, Laura. It's a real holiday to me. Just dropped off a box at the food bank, now getting things together for my friends. Hope you have a good one.

  18. John - I know what you mean. It has very little of the commercial trappings attached to it.

  19. Hey Laura, we don't have a particular feast in Oz, but I am thankful every day for the mundane as well as the awesome things.

Loved your ode to Thanksgiving. I hope you'll check out my picture-essay on the topic.:)

  20. LOL! You know what? When I read this, I thought it was Alex's blog. Why would I even THINK that? Your blog and his don't even look alike. Told you I had a mushy brain this week :)

  27. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Laura. At my house it was all about rest and relaxation today (but I still ate a wee bit too much).

  37. Laura that is the one bad thing about going to someone else's house for Thanksgiving...NO LEFTOVERS.
I went to my sister's and almost cried when I saw she threw away the turkey bones, she doesn't make turkey and rice soup, I do.
Hope you at least got to bring home some of the deserts.
Have a great week (I missed the weekend again).

  38. Pam - At least you and I had the good company of family...minus the leftovers. ;)
